Ndife amodzi - All lives matter

streaming rivers,
blood red defiled hearts
machete armed men
so called warm heart of Africa

Warm with blood
massacre and killing sprees
ndife amodzi (we are one)
the empyrean weeps all night

a divergence of melanin
birthed on the same land
Malawi,
piles of cadavers hex our lands

brown like toast
we plume ourselves
a ticket -
to inhume our brothers

clansman, the trickling stains
that ring to the heavens
brew thunderstorms and hails
and we die in bloodshed

mothers burying mutilated kids
that drowned in terror and fear
preyed and butchered in a land
trademarked as "homeland"

for printed paper?
a sit in parliament?
requital awaits in the corner
for you, "melanin gods"

Shackles Fall

Yesterday's reality is today's nightmares but tomorrow smiles with sweet promises and shackles fall Yesterday's was physical knuckles were bleeding. Today's is lyrical the heart is healing. Write me a poem so tomorrow looks magical with scars so beautiful as shackles fall
